As I was walking home from work today, I saw a huge flock (!!) of raptors flying above my head. I have never seen anything like it. Well actually, when I was in Mwanza, Tanzania, I sometimes also saw gatherings of big birds of prey, but I have never seen this many at the same time, and never in town! I don’t know if they were hovering over something eatable, or if they were just enjoying the breeze. In any case, it was cool as hell. I just wonder what type of bird they are? They were kind of big, but smaller than an eagle (I think), much larger than a crow though. They were brown with lighter parts on the wings (like a band). It is of course almost impossible to tell from the photo, or from that description, but any ideas on what kind of bird this might be would be highly appreciated.
