Even though the arctic night started over a week ago, it still gets darker by the day in Troms. I have literally not seen the sun in over two weeks now, I’ve just seen her remnants.
So, this is my project: get outside around lunch and take at least one photo per day until the Arctic night ends. My lunch walks this week have been more of lunch jogs. Too much work has made it impossible to take long meditative walks, but it has given me the opportunity to practice my wretched ankles by short runs in the twi (and some times no) light.
The weather has been off and on. We’ve had both snow, hail and rain storms.
At times, it has been a challenge to even get out of the front door without falling because of all the ice on the ground. But once out, it has (as always) been worth it. Looking out over Tromsø in the Arctic night is like watching a gigantic Christmas tree.
And somehow, the arctic night makes the mountains and buildings seem like something that is alive. Like resting giants, waiting for the sun to rise.
